Inuyasha Special Limited Edition

Description of Item:

This special box set was released by Viz on December 9, 2003. It ranges from $37-$45 depending on where you buy it and is far beyond worth it if you ask me. I'll chop this up by whats included in the set then do a general review.

INUYASHA DVD'S 1-3 (episodes 1-9)
First off this set includes the first three DVD's in the series, which automatically makes this set worth it if you can find it. Buying those seperately would cost near $60. They come in this special case that holds all three of them and has an intricately detailed cover. Honestly there is nothing too special about the DVD's. There are 3 episodes on one DVD (duh right?), along with various little special features like random artwork and stuff like that, and the sound quality is good. The DVD's really aren't that special, but the fact you can get them so cheap with so much other stuff is awesome.

Apparently Viz is going to start releasing a trading card game for Inuyasha, and in this limited edition set you get two of the cards from it. They are just neat to look at. I don't know if they will vary from set to set but I have a feeling they will.

You also get a little wall poster too. Its got Inuyasha, Kagome, and Sesshoumaru on it, but its also got pictures of the manga books and the DVD's on it with prices. So it looks more like an advertisement than a poster. Its still neat though.

This is my favorite feature. The calendar is way awesome. It comes in this case that almost looks like a CD case and unfolds backwards and turns into a stand. Each month is on a seperate card, and each card is decorated with a different character(s). The cards are thick and sturdy and the artwork on them is amazing. Its very intricate and you get different shots of each character. Also, it shows the phases of the moon under each of the dates (like what the moon will look like that night) and on the new moon its a tiny picture of Inuyasha in his human form. The calendar is very very cool.

General Thoughts:
This set is very much worth it if you can find it. Not only is it a great deal but you get some very cool things with it AND Viz is only making 15,000 of them. I know that sounds like a lot, but its really not in the grand scheme of things. If you can find it, I highly suggest you grab it while you can. This is definetely a great release for us Inuyasha fans ^_^
